MICHAEL THOMPSON
Michael Thompson brings over 20 years of experience in state and federal government affairs. He served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2000 to 2010, where he was Majority Whip for the House Republican Caucus. In this role, he coordinated legislative floor strategy and led the effort to pass landmark legislation, including the Workers' Compensation Reform bill, a key victory for the business and manufacturing sectors.
During his tenure, Thompson also served as Vice Chairman of the Utilities Subcommittee on the Labor, Commerce, and Industry Committee, playing a central role in energy policy and industrial regulation in South Carolina. His legislative leadership earned him recognition as a pragmatic voice for pro-business reforms.
After leaving the Legislature, Thompson moved to Washington, D.C., where he became a successful fundraiser for Republican Congressional members, leveraging his deep relationships with lawmakers and industry leaders. His family background in business—growing one of the largest freight companies in the country—adds to his expertise in regulatory and economic policy.
